DO Rias Baixes Quina de Consuelo Owners: Grandes Pagos Gallegos de Viticulture Tradicional

O Rosal, Pontevedra, Rias Baixes, Galicia, Spain

Located in the southern border of Galicia by the sea, the origins of the property of Quinta de Consuelo date back to 1100s as a monastery. In the 1800s, the property was acquired and developed by the Vicente Family, who ran the winery for 150 years later selling to today’s owners, the Grandes Pagos Gallegos de Viticulture Tradicional. This group pays reverence to the Vicente Family through the propagation of native Galician grape varietals, the most well-known being the Albariño.

My husband and I toured the winery a few years ago and can attest to the quality and care that goes into each bottle. Quinta de Consuelo has earned numerous awards and we’re proud to be one of their distributors.

Here we are below with our host. The trees that appear on their bottles are behind us.
