We hope you enjoy viewing our collection as we share our work with you.
ABOUT THE ARTIST
My interest in art began as a young child growing up in the Chicago area and developed into creating short, hand-drawn, award-winning animated films during my teenage years. My interest in filmmaking got me accepted to the University of Southern California, where I earned my bachelor’s degree in Cinema Production. I later enhanced my education at the California Institute of the Arts, Art Center College of Design, and The American Animation Institute. Much of my professional career involved producing and directing short films and videos, among other technical jobs in the film and television industry.
During this time, my wife and I developed and opened a small Spanish Restaurant in the Los Angeles area, which led to many trips to Spain and piqued my interest in the art of Spain.
After selling the restaurant, it was the perfect time to refocus my own personal development and return to art. In tandem with the launch of The Spanish Wine Club, I embraced the opportunity to rekindle my lifelong love of painting while fusing Spain’s passion for winemaking and fine art into depictions of everyday life. Homages to the artist Diego Velázquez’s 1626 painting, “Los Borrachos,” of the mythical god of agriculture and wine, appear in several of my paintings. Inspiration also came from further studies of the baroque energy and movement, particularly in the works of Francisco de Goya and El Greco, the El Bosco “Triptico del Jardin de las Delicias,”. I am also inspired by the art of Pablo Picasso, Juan Miró, and Salvador Dalí.
Each painting provides me with a unique closeness and further appreciation into the heart and soul of Spain.
